Dan Cooper

Advanced Personal Trainer, Sport Scientist and GP Referral Specialist

Dan served 5 years in the First Battalion Royal Regiment of Fusiliers in Germany, Poland, Canada & Iraq. Dan is a highly experienced personal trainer and has worked with lots of people from sports athletes to cardiac rehab patients. He was previously a Park Manager with British Military Fitness and more recently a Fire Fighter.

Dan is well Known for delivering a fun but very challenging session, with high expectations when it comes to technique. Don't worry though, all exercises will be demonstrated and Dan will work with you to ensure that you are using the correct technique.

Dan is approachable, knowledgeable, encouraging and professional.

Liam Thompson

Level 3 Personal Trainer 

Liam served 6 years in the Royal Marines and gained valuable knowledge and training in how to get the most from individuals.

Liam has utilised his skills in both indoor and out door gyms with his unique training style to help all individuals achieve their goals. Liam has also worked in schools to promote healthy living and positive change through military style fitness sessions.

Liam has achieved some awesome personal goals such as climbing to Everest base camp in 2009, he also ran the London marathon in 2011, has taken on mud runs and even completed Europe's toughest Mudder, which was an 8 hour endurance course.

Liam's claim to fame is that he represented the UK in a World Championship Dragon Boat race in Hong Kong.

Liam is a great asset to Coopers Troopers and is excited to join our community.

Charlotte  Gaskell

Level 4 obesity and diabetes weight management, Level 3 personal trainer, level 3 exercise referral specialist and pre and post natal exercise specialist. 

Charli served in the Army Reserves between 2010-2016, since then Charli has spent a short duration as an RAF reserves and aspires to join the RAF as a regular officer. Charli qualified as a personal trainer in 2012, she has taken part in training camps in Thailand, and soon became a group exercise class instructor and an instructor for military style bootcamps, including residential bootcamp holidays. 

Charli moved into teaching fitness instructor and personal training qualifications in 2016 and transitioned into teaching in the adult education sector. Since putting the brakes on with her fitness career she has aspired to return to her fitness role, helping everyone to achieve their fitness goals. She is approachable, friendly and supportive. 

Mark Whincup

Level 2 Exercise & Fitness qualified.

Athletics Coaching Assistant (Track & Field) qualified.

Mark served for 25 years in the Royal Regiment of Artillery, serving in both the UK and Overseas on numerous operational deployments.

Since leaving the military he has been employed as an Instructor & Centre Manager of a Military Preparation College and is currently an Engineer in the Aerospace Industry.

Mark has been an active member of Tipton Harriers and is currently a member of Stourbridge Running Club where he has competed at many levels in Road, Trail, Cross Country & Track running events.

Mark is now looking forward to the challenge of helping you to achieve your running goals,  in some fun but challenging sessions.

Jack Thompson

BSc(Hons) Sport and Exercise Science, level 3 Personal Trainer and Pre and Post-natal Exercise Specialist

Jack is currently serving as an Army Reservist in the Royal Corps of Signals and started his career in
2011 whilst studying at the University of South Wales. In January 2020 he passed the Army Reserve
Physical Training Instructor course and then volunteered for the Army’s support to the Covid-19
Pandemic from March to July. Jack is also a military Ski instructor with his goal to transfer this
qualification into BASI level 2 Ski instructor in the next couple of years.

Jack started his fitness career roughly 2 years ago at Bannatynes Health Clubs before starting his role
at Warner Leisure Hotels in their Leisure department. He regularly conducts 1-2-1 sessions with the
gym’s members, as well as teaching circuit classes and Aqua Aerobics. Jack enjoys a challenge and in
2019 he completed his first Half-marathon, which for Jack and his dislike for running, was physically
and mentally challenging! He is now looking forward to his next physical endeavor! Jack is a stickler
for technique and would rather take good quality exercises over quantity! Jack will make every
session “enjoyable” but challenging to your fitness level.
